FAQ
Where does the data come from?
Each pack comes from the state's official public license or registration records: Florida DBPR, Texas TDLR, Texas TSBPE, Virginia DPOR, Arizona ROC, California CSLB, Washington L&I, Minnesota DLI, Oregon CCB, Oregon BCD, Connecticut DCP, or Iowa DIAL. We don't invent fields the state doesn't publish. Check any record on the state site before you use it.
Which trades are covered?
HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, residential building, general contracting, pool and spa, underground utility, painting, landscaping, flooring, tile, concrete, hardscaping and irrigation, cabinets and finish carpentry, drywall, low voltage, general engineering, glazing, technology systems, home improvement, new home construction, and remodeling, depending on the state and metro. HVAC: Florida, Texas, Virginia, Arizona, California, and Washington. Plumbing: Florida (with HVAC), Texas, Virginia, Arizona, California, Washington, Minnesota, and Oregon. Electrical: Florida, Texas, Virginia, Arizona, California, Washington, Minnesota, and Oregon. Roofing: Florida, Arizona, and California. Residential building: Florida, Virginia, Arizona, Minnesota, and Oregon. General contracting and pool and spa: Florida and California. Underground utility: Florida. Painting and concrete: Virginia, Arizona, California, and Washington. Landscaping: Virginia, California, and Washington. Flooring, tile, and cabinets and finish carpentry: Arizona, California, and Washington. Hardscaping and irrigation: Arizona. Drywall and low voltage: Arizona and California. General engineering and glazing: California. Technology systems: Minnesota. Home improvement and new home construction: Connecticut. Remodeling: Iowa. Each pack card names its trade, and its Gumroad page lists the license types included.
How fresh is it?
Every row has a pulled_at timestamp, and the brief lists the pull date. Boards update on their own schedule, so treat the CSV as a dated snapshot and re-check status on the board when a record matters.
Are emails included?
We never add or invent emails. Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Washington, Minnesota, Oregon, and Connecticut packs have no email column. Virginia DPOR publishes an email field on some firm records. VA packs keep it exactly as published, so it may be blank or out of date. Iowa DIAL publishes an email field on many contractor registrations. IA packs keep it exactly as published, so it may be blank or out of date. Phone numbers appear only where the state publishes them. California, Washington, Minnesota, and Iowa packs include the business phone exactly as the board publishes it. Texas Electrical packs include it as TDLR publishes it; TDLR leaves it blank on A/C Contractor (HVAC) rows. Texas Plumbing packs include it only where TSBPE publishes one. Oregon packs include the phone exactly as CCB publishes it. In Oregon Electrical and Plumbing packs (BCD licenses) it is filled in only when the business name and ZIP match one CCB license, and left blank otherwise.
How do I buy?
Open a pack's Gumroad page. Checkout, delivery, and terms are handled there.
